Cats will be cats...

Ok so fall/winter time is not the most ideal time for picture taking.  The sun is gone by 4 o' clock, it's cloudy most of the time, it rains quite a bit, so the circumstances are not ideal for capturing a glorious sunset or anything worth photographing for that matter.  

So I had decided to give up for now, seeing that the weather was so gloomy buuuut as I stepped into my back yard and saw a cat casually laying down on the brick wall in the position you are seeing below, I immediately ran back to my room, grabbed my camera and various other opportunities presented themselves besides the original kitty that initiated the photo shoot.

After having a few horrible days at work, yes those days that you just come back home and burst into tears, I decided that I needed to go on a little weekend trip to Paphos.  Not too far away from Nicosia but when you live in Cyprus anything that's 10 minutes away from your house, it's far away! Had a lovely weekend there with two of my very good friends from uni and then on my way back home I decided to stop in Stavrovouni where you basically drive up a mountain and you can find a monastery there.

The view from up there is incredible and I was lucky enough to catch the glorious sunset :)  So, the pictures that follow are basically the sunset from up high, the view from the mountain and the monastery!

New cats in town...and my dog's reaction to them!

Well long time no see!!! I was having a bit of a sick day today (which means day off of work) so I decided to take my camera, go out to my back yard and just take some pictures of the adorableness that was going on outside. 

 If you remember Mindy from some older posts, you won't be seeing her again most probably since she has decided that it was time for her to open her paws and move...But there are some new cats in town which wouldn't let me go near them but I still managed to take a few shots from afar!

My dog...and his little panda bear!

Aaah my little doggy, one of the many things that brings joy to my life (occasionally that is, when he is not being a little rascal).  This dog is THE most depressed dog you will have ever seen, seriously!  I adopted him from a shelter about a year ago and in the beginning I thought that he was just quiet because he was shy...well that was partly true since now he can be VERY mischievous and yet very depressed at times.

Whenever people come to visit and meet Benny for the very first time they are always like ''what is wrong with this dog? Why is he so depressed?''....I don't know! Regardless, when he sees a new toy he gets extremely excited, so just the other day I gave him a little panda bear and he thoroughly enjoyed playing with it!

Glorious Sunset

Here I am again! With more pictures! You will have to excuse the quality of the pictures you are about to see since they were all taken on my way home from work, and were thus taken with my compact and not my dslr!

What happens is that when I am on my way back home from work, that is the time that the most glorious sunsets will appear in the sky, and each and every time I am absolutely gutted that I am not able to take a picture of this spectacular image taking place in front of my very eyes!

Sooo, I decided that I will always carry my compact with me in my bag so that when one of these magical sunsets take place I'll just pull over, take my picture, and keep driving to my destination.  The pictures below are the exact result of what I have just described.  

The only downside to this (besides using a lower quality camera) is that I cannot get out of my car since I have to pull over to the side of the road, which most times (ok always!) happens to be a bus stop.  Therefore I need to be ready to move as soon as I see a bus which rightfully wants to stop at the designated bus stop space.  So picture this ---> me, in my car, at a bus stop, hanging over my window trying to take a picture!

Still though, I hope you like them :)

“Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile”

Well...I kind of went to another park....that's what I do people, I go from park to park and take pictures while people look at me weird.  However, since I'm still in the process of learning what kind of settings are appropriate for each time of the day, I wasn't able to take that many good pictures.  Still, I decided that I wanted to share them with you and I hope that you'll at least find them to be ok :)

A day at the beach...or a whole week!

So I spent a whole week in Protaras (a place in Cyprus with beautiful beaches and a wild night life which I chose not to experience, but if you are a party animal who loves to swim then you should definitely go there!).

Spending time at the beach can indeed be extremely relaxing...laying on a sunbed, having the blue ocean right in front of you, the sun shining above giving you a nice tan (do not forget to use a sunscreen!). After sunbathing and swimming in the deep blue sea I decided to walk around the area and take some pictures and here I am now sharing them with you!
